Position Overview
Post: Junior Research Fellow
Project Title: SERB-DST funded Project ‘Molecular Characterization of Small Ruminant Lentiviruses (SRLVs) and Development of Multiple Antigenic Construct Based Diagnostics for SRLVs Using Computational Biology Tools’
Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for this role should possess a postgraduate degree in Basic Sciences with a three-year Bachelor’s Degree and a two-year Master’s degree. Additionally, having a NET qualification, as specified in the OM SR/S9/Z09/2018 of DST dated 30.01.2019, is necessary. Those with a PhD or Master’s degree in relevant subjects such as Veterinary Pathology, Veterinary Microbiology, or Animal Biotechnology along with a 4-year/5-year Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply.
Desired Expertise
Applicants with experience in molecular biology techniques, PCR, gene sequence analysis, cloning, expression, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, protein purification, IHC (Immunohistochemistry), and histopathology are strongly encouraged to apply.
Compensation and Duration
Selected candidates will receive a remuneration of Rs 31,000/- P.M. plus HRA in accordance with the OM SR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated 30.01.2019. The project is expected to last until February 2026, offering an extensive period for research and exploration.
Age Criteria and Application Process
The maximum age limit for male candidates is 30 years and for female candidates is 35 years as of the interview date. Age relaxation will be applicable as per the norms of the Government of India for SC/ST/OBC/women candidates.
