NIFTEM Recruitment for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Applications are invited in the prescribed format (Annexure-1) for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (01 no.) on purely contractual (01 no.) basis to work in the externally funded (DBT, Govt. of India) research project- Title of the Project: “Use of non-toxic nanoformulations for prolonging shelf life and reduction of post-harvest loss of mandarin orange of North East India”. The position is coterminous to the project.
About the Institute;
NIFTEM, or the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, is a deemed university located in Kundli, Sonipat, Haryana, India. It is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India.
NIFTEM was established in 2006 with the aim of promoting education, research, and entrepreneurship in the field of food science and technology. The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in food science and technology, food business management, and agriculture and environmental science.
NIFTEM is known for its state-of-the-art infrastructure, experienced faculty members, and industry-oriented curriculum. The institute has collaborations with several national and international organizations, including the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.
NIFTEM has been actively involved in research and development activities in the field of food science and technology. The institute has set up several research facilities, including a food processing incubation center, a sensory evaluation lab, a food safety and quality lab, and a food packaging and shelf-life lab. NIFTEM has also been awarded several research grants from national and international funding agencies.

Age – Maximum 30 years for males and maximum 35 years for females and Applicants with a valid certificate of SC/ST/OBC as per Government rules).

- The selected candidates will be required to produce certificates/testimonials in original as claimed in the application before joining.
- The tentative date of the interview is April 8, 2023. However, the final date of the Interview (Online / Offline) would be provided by email as found in the application. No other mode of communication would be used in this regard.
Monthly Remuneration; Rs. 31000/- + HRA (@8%) – HRA would be deducted if hostel/campus accommodation is availed.
Essential Qualification:
Master’s degree in Biotechnology/ Food Science/ Food Technology/ Food Technology & Management/ Postharvest Technology/ Chemical Engineering/ Post Harvest Management with minimum 60% scores.
1-Year work experience in Nano-biotechnological areas including synthesis of nanomaterials, nanoemulsions, bioactive nano-formulations and nano coatings, packaging, shelf life extension of fruits and vegetables, and post-harvest management is highly desirable for this position. (Ph.D. would be an added advantage)
