Detailed Job Description:

PROFICIENCY TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR QUALIFIED PARAMEDICS (INTERN PARAMEDICS)

WALK-IN INTERVIEW
Date: 27th & 28th of October 2023 (for Paramedics and CCU Technicians)
30th & 31st of October 2023 (for Nurses)

Place of Interview: Confluence, Opp. To Burnpur Post Office, Near Bharti Bhawan, Burnpur -713325, Dist: Paschim Bardhaman, West Bengal.

Reporting Time: 9.00 AM to 11:00 AM (for Document verification followed by the interview, all relevant documents to be brought in original for verification along with their photocopies)
(Candidates must have completed their qualifying education; appearing candidates will not be allowed to appear in the interview)

CRITERIA:

Upper Age Limit (as on 01.10.2023):
- General candidates – 30 years
- OBC Candidates – 33 years
- ST & SC Candidates – 35 years
Duration of Training: 18 months, Subsequent Extension subject to vacancy.

The selected candidates will be posted in the following qualified departments during the training period. Intake of trainees:

Operation Theatre Technician – 1 Number
Dresser (Female) – 1 Number
X-ray Technician – 1 Number
Pharmacist – 3 Numbers
Laboratory Technician & Blood Bank Technician – 8 Numbers
Pulmonary Function Test Technician – 1 Number
Dental Hygienist – 1 Number
Dental Assistant/Dental Operating Room Assistant – 1 Number
CCU Technician – 1 Number
Nurses – 23 Numbers

Working Hours: The working hours of the trainees shall be 8 hours a day and 48 hours a week. The trainees, during the period of training, will also be required to work in shifts.

Eligibility Conditions:

a) The Medical fitness of the candidate selected as a trainee under the scheme will have to be certified by the Medical Officer of IISCO Steel Plant Hospital.

b) The candidate selected as a Trainee shall be required to produce all the testimonials and certificates of relevant qualification as detailed below:

Streams: Operation Theatre Technician

- Required Qualifications: Intermediate (10+2) with Science from any university/institution recognized by the Central or State Govt. & 2 (Two) Years Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology from any university/institution recognized by the Central or State Govt. Or Graduate in Operation Theatre Technology from any university/institution recognized by the Central or State Govt.
Streams: Dresser (Female)
- No. of Posts: 1
- Required Qualifications: Intermediate (10+2) from any university/institution recognized by the Central or State Govt. & Diploma or Certificate Course in Dresser from any university/institution recognized by the Central or State Govt.
Streams: X-Ray Technician
- No. of Posts: 1
- Required Qualifications: Intermediate (10+2) with Science from any university/institution recognized by the Central or State Govt. & 2 (Two) Years Diploma in Radiography (DRD) from any university/institution recognized by the Central or State Govt. Or Graduate in Radiography from any university/institution recognized by the Central or State Govt. (Experience in CT-Scan will be given preference)

- Required Qualifications: Critical Care Technician: Degree/Diploma in Critical Care Technology (OR) GNM/B.Sc (Nursing) with a minimum one-year experience of working in ICU with a Ventilator.
Stream: Nurses
- No. of Posts: 23
- Required Qualifications: GNM or BSc in Nursing from any institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.

Stipend & Allowance:

A) Paramedics & Nurses:

Stipend: Rs. 10,000/- per month (To be paid on a prorate basis based on actual attendance)
Knowledge & Skill enhancement allowance:
- Monthly attendance (No. of days of physical presence)
  - 20 days or more: Rs. 260/- per day of presence
  - 15 to 19 days: Rs. 130/- per day of presence
  - Less than 15 days: No allowance, only stipend to be paid.
The maximum amount payable will be ₹ 10,000/- (stipend) + ₹ 7,020/- (₹ 260 x 27 as allowance) = ₹ 17,020/-. Payment shall be made only through the bank. No payments other than as mentioned above shall be payable to the trainees during the period of their training.

B) CCU Technician

Stipend: Rs 17,980/- per month (To be paid on a prorate basis based on actual attendance)
Knowledge & Skill enhancement allowance:
- Monthly attendance (No. of days of physical presence)
  - 20 days or more: Rs. 260/- per day of presence
  - 15 to 19 days: Rs. 130/- per day of presence
  - Less than 15 days: No allowance, only stipend to be paid.
The maximum amount payable will be ₹ 17,980/- (stipend) + ₹ 7,020/- (₹ 260 x 27 as allowance) = ₹ 25,000/-. Payment shall be made only through the bank. No payments other than as mentioned above shall be payable to the trainees during the period of their training.

Switch Over: During the period of training, the trainee will not be allowed to switch over to their allotted specialty stream. However, the trainee may be allowed to apply for a fresh term only on completion of the current training cycle.

Facilities admissible during the period of training:

a) The trainees, during the period of their training, shall be entitled to medical facilities (without referral) for self only at the company hospital.

b) Accommodation facility for self only may be considered as per availability on a payment basis.

c) On successful completion of the training, a Certificate of Proficiency shall be issued to the trainees by the IISCO Steel Plant Hospital.

Leave facilities during the period of training:

The trainees, during the period of their training, shall be entitled to 7 days of Casual Leave and Closed Holiday (or Compensatory off) for National Holidays.

Conduct and Discipline during the period of training:

a) The Proficiency Training Programme (Intern Paramedic) is purely temporary for a period of 18 months. The training of a trainee can be terminated without notice if the Conduct/Performance is not found to be satisfactory.

b) The selected trainees shall execute an Undertaking on a Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 10/- (as per the format annexed) to serve the IISCO Steel Plant Hospital strictly as a Vocational trainee and will not claim employment in the IISCO Steel Plant Hospital, Burnpur on this ground, nor will the trainee raise any dispute in this respect. The trainee shall also declare that he/she will complete the training period.

c) The trainee shall follow the norms of Safety, Discipline, Conduct, and Professional Ethics and also carry out the lawful orders of the Medical Administration issued from time to time. The trainee shall obey all such orders and directions as received from the superiors.

On completion of the training, a “Certificate of completion” will be issued to the successful candidates.

Selected Proficiency Trainees will be governed by Relevant Rules.
