Job Role & Responsibilities

As a Gastro Surgery Coder at IKS Health, you will:

• Perform accurate coding for gastro and orthopedic surgery cases using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines.
• Review clinical documents and assign appropriate codes for surgical procedures.
• Ensure compliance with CPC, CCS, COC, CRC certification standards.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams for coding clarifications.
• Maintain high levels of accuracy and productivity in coding.
• Stay updated with coding regulations, payer guidelines, and compliance requirements.
• Support revenue cycle efficiency by minimizing coding errors and denials.

Eligibility / Qualifications

• Education: Any Life Science Graduate (BPT, MPT, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, B.Sc, M.Sc, Nursing, Nutrition, Zoology, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics).
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in surgery coding (Orthopedic or Gastro Surgery preferred).
• Certification: Mandatory certification in CPC, CCS, COC, or CRC.
• Skills Required:
  • Strong knowledge of medical coding guidelines and surgery coding.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work in compliance-driven environments.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
