KIIT University inviting applications for Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, formerly KIIT University, is a private university in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. KIIT Deemed to be University is inviting applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position to work on a research project sponsored by DST-SERB Core Research Grant. The project will focus on studying the development of rice silica cells at the micro and nanoscale. The fellowship lasts three years with a monthly stipend of Rs. 31,000 for the first and second years and Rs. 35,000 for the third year. Candidates should have an M.Sc./M.Tech/M.Pharm./M.V.Sc or equivalent qualification in Life Sciences or allied subjects with a minimum of 60% marks should have qualified national-level examinations such as NET LS/GATE/GPAT/BET.

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position to work on a research project sponsored by DST-SERB Core Research Grant (CRG/2022/000513).

Title of the Project: An ultrastructural study on the development of rice silica cells at micro-and nanoscale

Duration of the project and fellowship amount: The project lasts three years. Fellowship will be paid Rs 31,000 per month for 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 35,000 per month for 3rd year. The funding agency may also provide a house rent allowance of @16% after approval after approval.

Essential Qualifications for JRF (one position): Candidates should have passed their M.Sc./M.Tech/M.Pharm./M.V.Sc or equivalent qualification in Life Sciences or allied subjects (Biochemistry/Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/Microbiology etc.) with a minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent grade point). Candidates should have qualified national-level examinations such as NET LS/GATE/GPAT/BET. The fellowship duration will be for one year, followed by an extension of another two years, subject to the availability of funds.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience working on plants / light microscopy / laser scanning confocal microscopy / scanning electron microscopy etc.

Age Limit: The applicant should be below 28 years as of 21st April 2023. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates per Govt of India rules.

Registration for Ph.D.: The successful candidate is expected to register for a full-time Ph.D. program at the School of Biotechnology, KIIT Deemed to be University per Institute norms. Note: Virtual or Physical Interviews will be conducted depending on COVID-19. Original documents must be produced during the interview (Virtual or Physical mode).

No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates to appear for the interview.
