About the Role: Synthesis – R&D Department
This role is pivotal in developing reference standards, impurities, and novel compounds, contributing to the organization’s core R&D pipeline. As a synthesis expert, you’ll be engaged in designing synthetic pathways, executing multi-step organic synthesis, and optimizing lab processes for enhanced efficiency and yield.
Key Responsibilities:
- Synthesize impurities, reference standards, and metabolites with precision
- Develop and design synthetic routes for known and unknown impurities
- Execute multi-step organic synthesis, ensuring product purity and yield optimization
- Conduct in-depth literature and patent searches for alternative synthetic methodologies
- Operate analytical instruments including NMR, LC-MS, HPLC, and IR for compound analysis
- Scale synthesis from milligram to gram levels as per project requirements
- Maintain clear documentation and adhere to strict safety protocols in the lab
Candidate Profile: Qualifications and Experience
Required Educational Background:
- M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry
- M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry or related fields
Professional Experience:
- 4 to 6 years of relevant hands-on experience in synthetic chemistry within R&D setups
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of reaction mechanisms
- Proficiency in interpreting NMR, LC-MS, HPLC, and IR data
