Job Role & Responsibilities
As a Medical Coding Specialist/Senior Specialist, you will:
- Review patient medical records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for diagnoses and procedures.
- Ensure correct sequencing of codes as per established guidelines.
- Apply a thorough understanding of medical necessity and Ambulatory Payment Classifications (APCs) for processing charts.
- Maintain compliance with all coding standards, payer guidelines, and audit requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Certification from AAPC or AHIMA is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in EM OP coding.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and expertise in coding guidelines.
