Educational Qualifications

Candidates must hold one of the following degrees from a recognized institute:

Master’s Degree in:

• Biomedical Engineering
• Chemical Engineering

• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation/Polymer/Computer Science/Medical Electronics Engineering
• Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences
• Clinical Pharmacology
• Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry
• Life Sciences

OR

Bachelor’s Degree in the same fields (listed above) with additional experience.

Experience Requirements

• Master’s Degree Holders: Minimum 4 years of experience in manufacturing, testing, regulation, or designing of medical devices.
• Bachelor’s Degree Holders: Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.

Note: Experience requirements may be relaxed for SC/ST candidates and as per UPSC discretion.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversight of Drugs Inspectors during joint inspections, complaint investigations, and sample analysis.
• Review and monitor inspection reports, applications, and regulatory documents.
• Handle online regulatory applications and public queries.
• Represent CDSCO in workshops, technical panels, and expert committees.
• Carry out duties assigned by the Drugs Controller General (India).
