CSIR – Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants is inviting applications for the position of Project Associate-I/JRF in Natural Products Chemistry. The position is temporary and initially for one year, with a stipend of Rs. 31,000/- for UGC, CSIR-NET/NET-LS/GATE qualified candidates or Rs. 25,000/- for others. The selection will be based on an online interview; the last application date is April 25th, 2023.

CSIR – Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants is a constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. The Institute researches all frontline areas of Biological, Agricultural & Chemical Sciences.

Essential Qualifications: M.Sc in Chemistry or M.Pharma / MS (Pharm) in Natural Products

Desirable: Experience in natural product chemistry/analytical chemistry of plant secondary metabolites.

Age Limit: 35 Years

Stipend: Rs.31, 000/- + HRA for UGC, CSIR- NET/NET-LS/GATE qualified candidate OR Rs.25, 000/- + HRA for others

Mode of selection: Selection will be based on online interviews through MS Team. The last date for receipt of applications is 25.4.2023 till 5.30 PM in the prescribed format only given with this Advertisement on [email protected]. After receipt of applications in the prescribed format through e-mail, screened candidates will be called for MS Team online interview.

Terms & Conditions

• Engagement will be initially for one year and may be extended or curtailed depending upon the project requirement, desired level performance or conduct of the incumbent and availability of funds from funding agencies as the case may be.
• The tenure of project staff shall be co-terminus with the project. However, under no circumstances the tenure would be allowed to exceed five-year duration. The performance of the Project Associate would be reviewed periodically so that any one not found up to the mark, could be terminated.
• The position is only temporary and, therefore, will not confer any right on the incumbent to any claim, implicit or explicit on any post in CSIR-CIMAP.
• The upper age limit as on date of Walk-in-Interview, is relaxable as per the Government of India Rules i.e. up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes/Persons with disabilities/ Women and 3 years for OBC (Non Creamy layer)
• On completion of the tenure in one project, in case, one wants to apply for engagement in another project, he/she will have to go through the process of selection by submitting a fresh application under the new project. Engagement of the Project Staff under the new project would be made only after submission of resignation and “No Demand Certificate” in the previous project.
• The Project Associate shall be permitted to avail leave as per rules.
• Experience, where required, will be counted from acquiring minimum educational qualification
• Final semester and result awaited candidates will not be allowed to appear for interview.
