Qualifications and Eligibility:
- Educational Qualification: Students pursuing Master’s degrees (e.g., MSc, MVSc, MPharm, MTech, and integrated M.Sc.) in any branch of life science are eligible to apply.
- Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must not be in their first year of Master’s and should have completed their Bachelor’s degree. Those in their first year of Master’s or Bachelor’s students are not eligible to apply.

Interested candidates can apply online at www.niab.res.in starting from October 13, 2023. It’s advisable to complete the application well in advance to avoid any last-minute technical issues. Please note that hard copies of the application are not required.
Selection Process:
The selection process will include an initial screening based on eligibility criteria and submitted documents, followed by an online examination. Further details regarding the examination will be provided in due course. Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the examination and may also be subject to interviews.
Terms and Conditions:
a. Lab Assignment: Selected students will be assigned to a lab by NIAB. While student preferences may be considered, the committee’s decision is final.
b. Training Fee: Students are required to pay a non-refundable training fee of Rs. 25,000 to undergo training at NIAB. This fee is forfeited if a student withdraws from the program after 21 days.
c. Report/Dissertation: Trainees must prepare a report or dissertation, which should be vetted and signed by the supervisor. This report must be submitted to the college/university as part of the program’s requirements.
d. Attendance: A minimum of 80% attendance is mandatory. Students are expected to maintain records of their leaves through submission of leave forms/letters, which must be approved by the supervisor.
e. Accommodation and Facilities: NIAB does not provide accommodation, transport, food, or insurance to trainees. Students are responsible for making their own arrangements for these during the training period.
