Position: Biopharmaceutics Scientist

• Department: Biopharmaceutics/Formulation Development
• Location: Bengaluru
• Experience Required: 10 to 14 years in pharmaceutics, focusing on pre-formulation and formulation development
• Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead pre-formulation studies of new chemical entities (NCEs) to analyze their physicochemical properties.
  • Guide and mentor a team of scientists in developing formulations to support pre-clinical pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacology (PD), and toxicology studies.
  • Execute feasibility studies for formulation development to identify potential drug candidates.
  • Train and orient new and existing scientists to enhance their understanding of assigned formulation development tasks.
  • Provide technical expertise in drug formulation and feasibility assessments to support drug development pipelines.

The position is crucial for advancing Syngene’s biopharmaceutical development initiatives, allowing candidates to make significant contributions to drug discovery and formulation.

Qualifications and Skills

To qualify for the role of Biopharmaceutics Scientist, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:

• M.Pharm or M.S. in Pharmaceutics, Industrial Pharmacy, or a related field.
• 10-14 years of professional experience in pharmaceutics or pharmaceutical technology with a strong focus on formulation development.
• Proven expertise in pre-formulation activities and an ability to understand and manipulate the physicochemical properties of NCEs.
• Experience in leading teams, training scientists, and managing formulation projects for pre-clinical pharmacokinetics and toxicology studies.
• A solid understanding of drug development processes, including feasibility studies and formulation strategies for new drug candidates.
