The National Centre for Cell Sciences (NCCS), an autonomous institution under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, is currently hiring Lifesciences candidates for various project positions. These positions are based in Pune, Maharashtra, and offer an exciting opportunity for candidates to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of cell science.
Job Role and Responsibilities
Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Dr. Deepa Subramanyam
- Project Title: Investigating the role of clathrin light chain in neural development and function.
- Department: Department of Biotechnology
- Tenure: 3 Years
- Responsibilities:
- Maintain Drosophila melanogaster stocks, set up crosses, and perform dissections.
- Conduct behavioural, image, and video analysis.
- Execute molecular biology tasks, including cloning and confocal imaging.
- Qualifications: B.S. 4 years programme, BPharm, MBBS, Integrated BS-MS, MSc, BE, BTech, or equivalent degree with 55% marks and NET/GATE qualification.
- Age Limit: 28 years (Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/OBC, women, and physically handicapped candidates).
- Fellowship: ₹37,000 + HRA (First & Second years), ₹42,000 + HRA (Third year upon upgradation).
Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Dr. Vidisha Tripathi
- Project Title: Molecular and functional studies on LNCRNA-Guided regulation of replication stress response and genome integrity in mammalian cells.
- Department: Department of Biotechnology
- Tenure: 3 Years
- Responsibilities:
- Handle mammalian cell culture and perform molecular biology & cell biology assays.
- Conduct routine lab work, read relevant literature, and participate in lab seminars.
- Prepare progress reports and write manuscripts as required.
- Qualifications: B.S. 4 years programme, BPharm, MBBS, Integrated BS-MS, MSc, BE, BTech, or equivalent degree with 55% marks and NET/GATE qualification.
- Age Limit: 28 years (Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/OBC, women, and physically handicapped candidates).
- Fellowship: ₹37,000 + HRA (First & Second years), ₹42,000 + HRA (Third year upon upgradation).
Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Dr. Sanjukta Mukherjee
- Project Title: Recognition of RNA structural motifs by bespoke small-molecules to interrogate and alter RNA-RBP interactions associated with phase-separated toxic aggregate formation.
- Department: Department of Biotechnology
- Tenure: Up to 14/03/2029
- Responsibilities:
- Conduct organic synthesis, column chromatography, and HPLC.
- Analyze NMR and Mass data, and perform various biophysical experiments (e.g., SPR, CD, UV, FL).
- Qualifications: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science or Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course with NET/GATE qualification.
- Desirable Experience: 1-3 years in Chemistry/Chemical Science/Pharmaceutical Chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry with proficiency in relevant techniques.
- Age Limit: 28 years (Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/OBC, women, and physically handicapped candidates).
- Fellowship: ₹37,000 + HRA
Application Process
Interested candidates fulfilling the essential qualifications are invited to attend walk-in interviews on 21st and 22nd August 2024 at the NCCS Complex, Savitribai Phule Pune University Campus, Ganeshkhind Road, Pune – 411007, Maharashtra, India.
Candidates must report by 09:30 AM and register their names at the Security Gate. Late arrivals will not be permitted to attend the interview. In case of a large number of candidates, interviews may extend to 23rd August 2024.
