Key Responsibilities

As a Research Associate / Senior Research Associate in the Synthesis R&D department, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Integral Biosciences’ research initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Organic Synthesis and Reaction Execution: Conduct various chemical reactions and employ synthesis methodologies to develop compounds as per project specifications.
• Purification and Analysis: Utilize techniques such as NMR, LCMS, and HPLC for compound purification and data interpretation to ensure accuracy in synthesis outputs.
• Documentation and Procedure Development: Prepare detailed procedures for multi-step reactions leading to final compound formulations, ensuring clarity for team use and compound submissions.
• Medicinal Chemistry Knowledge Application: Apply Structure-Activity Relationship (SAR) understanding to current projects, assessing potency and relevance to project goals.
• Database Search and Research: Conduct essential database searches to support ongoing research, utilizing chemistry databases under guidance from the Group Leader.

Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates applying for this role should meet the following qualifications:

• Educational Background: MSc in Organic Chemistry or M Pharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry
• Experience: 2-5 years in synthesis, organic chemistry, or a related R&D role
• Skill Set:
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of organic synthesis
  • Proficiency with laboratory equipment and techniques, particularly in organic chemistry synthesis
  • Ability to conduct independent tasks with an understanding of specific research functions and goals
  • Familiarity with database searches and research techniques to aid ongoing projects
