The ICMR-DHR  certificate program for Good Clinical practice (GCP) is framed to impart comprehensive training for skills and knowledge to conduct clinical research in strict adherence to the guidelines set forth by the International Committee for Harmonisation GCP guidelines (ICH GCP). This course is funded under the HRD Scheme of the Department of Health Research for “Support to Conduct Training Programme”. The three-month program will be from April-June and September- November every year and will be conducted in a hybrid mode, featuring online sessions and two in-person contact sessions at Centre for Clinical Trials and Research, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre in Kattankulathur, Chennai.

Program Overview

The ICMR-DHR Certificate Program on GCP aims to provide participants from diverse backgrounds with in-depth training on Good Clinical Practice. This program is especially beneficial for study coordinators, research associates, and trial managers who oversee clinical studies. By joining this program, participants will learn to conduct clinical research that complies with the International Committee for Harmonization (ICH) GCP guidelines, ensuring the highest standards of safety and ethics.

Previous Batches

The first two batches of this program, conducted from September to November 2023 and April to June 2024, were successfully completed, providing participants with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the field of clinical research.

Eligibility Criteria

This program is open to faculty members, students, and professionals holding qualifications such as MD/MS, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, Pharm D, MBBS, BDS, BHS, BUMS, BAMS, B.Tech in Biotechnology, or BSMS. Applicants must have a strong academic and research background.

Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on the applicant’s intended use of the training within their respective institutes. Prospective participants must submit a written plan detailing how they plan to apply the knowledge and skills acquired from the program. A total of 25 candidates will be selected based on their experience, background, and potential, as determined by a distinguished selection committee.

Course Details

The three-month program will be conducted in a hybrid format, combining recorded videos, online discussions, and reference materials. Face-to-face lectures will be held during the fifth and twelfth weeks, offering participants the chance to engage in group discussions, assignments, and interactions with resource persons.

Examination and Certification

The certification process includes both formative and summative assessments, with mandatory online assignments and an offline exam during the second contact session. Participants must score at least 50% in both the online assignments and the offline exam to be eligible for certification. Successful candidates will receive the prestigious ICMR-DHR Certificate for Good Clinical Practice.

Registration

Interested candidates should submit their registration forms by 5:00 PM on September 7, 2024. There are no course fees for selected candidates.
