Position Overview: Research Associate – Medicinal Chemistry Services
As a Research Associate in the Medicinal Chemistry Services department, you will play a critical role in the design and synthesis of novel compounds that contribute to drug discovery efforts. This position requires individuals who are detail-oriented, innovative, and capable of working in a fast-paced research setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Synthesize novel chemical compounds as part of drug discovery projects.
- Assist in the design and optimization of synthetic routes for complex organic molecules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret data and improve project outcomes.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Present findings and reports to senior team members for evaluation and further direction.
Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Requirement: MSc in Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry from a recognized institution.
- Experience: 2 to 6 years of relevant industry experience in medicinal chemistry or a related field.
- Strong understanding of synthetic organic chemistry, reaction mechanisms, and structure-activity relationships (SAR).
- Hands-on experience in multi-step organic synthesis.
- Ability to operate analytical instruments such as NMR, HPLC, and MS for compound characterization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
