About BRIC-NABI: A Hub for Bioinnovation

BRIC-NABI is India’s first institute dedicated solely to the agri-food biotechnology sector. The institute’s mandate spans four core R&D areas:

Focus Research Areas:

• Value addition to processing residues/waste for edible use
• Valorisation of crop waste into specialty products/chemicals
• Development of nutraceuticals and bio-product upgrades
• Synthetic biology for low-volume, high-value products like enzymes

Who Can Apply? – Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

• M.Sc. in Chemistry (General, Organic, Inorganic, Physical, Pharmaceutical, or Allied streams) OR
• M.Pharm from a recognized university/institute

Fellowship Requirement:

Candidates must have their own fellowship awarded by one of the following:

• CSIR
• UGC
• DBT
• DST
• ICAR
• ICMR
• GPAT/NTA or other national-level fellowships like JEST, JGEEBILS (TIFR/NCBS)

📝 Final year students awaiting results but already awarded fellowships are also eligible.

Age Limit:

As per CSIR-UGC and DST guidelines.

⚠️ Incomplete or ineligible applications will not be entertained. No TA/DA will be provided.

Selection Procedure

A screening committee will shortlist candidates, followed by a personal interview. Final selection will be made by a duly constituted panel, and selected candidates will be enrolled in the PhD program of IISER Mohali, which will confer the final degree.

The Executive Director, BRIC-NABI, reserves the right to set screening criteria based on application volume.
