BITS Pilani Ph.D. Admission 2024: Eligibility, Application Process, Dates & More

• BITS Pilani is a deemed university with campuses in Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Dubai.

Programs Offered:

• Many departments offer Ph.D. programs, including Management, Engineering, Science, Pharmacy, Economics & Finance, and Humanities & Social Sciences.

Admission Criteria:

• M.E, M Tech, M Pharm, MBA, M Phil. or equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate, or MSc, B.E, B Pharm. or equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate, are the minimal qualifying requirements.
• Candidates with an M.A. degree and a minimum of 55% aggregate may apply for Humanities & Social Sciences.
• A minimum of one year of experience in the relevant field of study is required of part-time applicants.
• If you meet the minimum eligibility requirements, you are not guaranteed admission; departments may have different admission criteria for shortlisting.

Application Process:

• Applications can be submitted online through the BITS Pilani website with required documents by April 29th, 2024.
• Required documents include a photograph, signature, date of birth certificate, mark sheet, and certificate of the qualifying degree.

Important Dates:

• Admissions open on March 1st, 2024, with the last date for submission of applications on April 29th, 2024.
• Shortlisted candidates will be declared on May 6th, 2024, with written tests and/or interviews scheduled at a BITS Pilani campus (date to be announced).
• Admission offers will be announced, and the fee payment deadline is July 25th, 2024.
• Orientation is on July 26th and 27th, 2024, with course registration starting on August 1st, 2024, and classwork beginning on August 2nd, 2024.

Financial Assistance:

• Full-time PhD students admitted into the program are eligible for an Institute fellowship ranging from Rs. 34,000 to Rs. 37,000 per month based on their qualifications.
• Higher fellowships may be available in subsequent years, and full-time students are required to undertake 8 hours of work per week as assigned by the institute.
