Research Area: Epigenetic Modulators [Diabetes]
The project focuses on Epigenetic Modulators related to Diabetes and is conducted under the Department of Pharmacy at BITS Pilani. The principal investigators for this project are Prof. Hemant R. Jadhav and Prof. Atish T. Paul.
Essential and Desirable Qualifications
To be eligible for the position, candidates should have a minimum of 60% aggregate in the qualifying degree, which should be M.Pharm/M.S (Pharm) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry/Natural Products or an equivalent field. They should also have qualified GATE/GPAT/NET-LS or an equivalent examination. Desirable qualifications include experience in molecular modeling and pharmaceutical synthesis.
About DBT BUILDER Programme
The DBT BUILDER (DBT Boost to University Interdisciplinary Life Science Departments for Education and Research) programme aims to promote interdisciplinary bioscience research and develop world-class schools of life science in universities. BITS Pilani has chosen the theme “Interdisciplinary Life Science Programme for Advanced Research and Education in Epigenetics and Genome Editing” for their DBT BUILDER program.
Details of the Positions: Junior Research Fellows (JRFs)
The available positions are for Junior Research Fellows (JRFs). The fellowship amount is Rs. 31,000/- per month for the first two years, and selected candidates may progress to become Senior Research Fellows (SRFs) for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th years based on DBT norms. The eligibility criteria can be found in the appended table, requiring candidates who have qualified NET-LS or equivalent national exams.
