About CSIR-IIIM R&TP Summer Call

CSIR-IIIM invites online applications from prospective candidates of all branches of Biological, Chemical & Agricultural sciences for CSIR-IIIM Research &Training/Internship Program (Summer Call) starting from May 2024.

Mode of Training/Internship

Trainees will have to work under the supervision/mentorship of CSIR-IIIM Scientist/Technical Officer. Each student is supposed to work on an allotted project and must submit a ‘Project Report’ of the work done on completion of the project.

Eligibility:

• MSc Program: Candidates who are currently pursuing their MSc Program are eligible to apply for CSIR-IIIM R&TP (Summer Call).
• B Tech, B Pharmacy, BSc Honors (4 Years Program) Program: Candidates who are currently pursuing their B Tech, B Pharmacy, BVSc, BSc Honors must be in their Third or Fourth Year only.
• Integrated B Tech -M Tech or BSc-MSc or MVSc: Candidates must be in their Third Year study onwards.
• MBBS, BDS students in any year of their study can apply.

Note: Candidates pursuing a 3-year BSc program and PhD are not eligible to apply.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria will be as follows:

1. A Nation-wide representation.
2. Preference shall be given to students from: a) Public funded Universities/Institutes with, b) Universities/Institutes with whom CSIR-IIIM Jammu is having MoU
3. Academic Record of 12th class, graduation, and semesters cleared at Bachelors/Masters level will be given preference.

The number of trainees’ intake varies between 50-60 candidates for Summer Session and mainly depends upon the availability of bench space available in various laboratories of CSIR-IIIM.

Fee – CSIR-IIIM Internship Program

Fee will be charged as follows:

• Two months = 10000+ 18% GST
• Three months = 15000+ 18% GST
• Four months = 20000+18% GST
• Five months = 25000+18% GST
• Six months = 30000+18% GST

How to apply for CSIR-IIIM Research &Training/Internship Program (Summer Call):

Prospective trainees interested in applying for the Research Training/Internship Program 2024 Summer session must submit the application through the online mode by or before 28 April 2024, 5:00 PM.

Documents required to be attached along with the Application form are as follows:

1. Completed Application Form
2. Marks Card and Diploma/degree Certificate of 12th Standard and Graduation
3. Marks Card of semesters cleared till April 2024.
4. Recommendation Letter (In original) from HoD/Dean/Registrar/Principal/Director (in Original). Please note that the photocopy of the letter shall not be accepted.

Financial Support/Boarding/Lodging

Selected candidates are required to self-finance their stay at CSIR-IIIM Jammu and shall have to make their arrangements for stay in Jammu/Srinagar during the training period. CSIR-IIIM may consider requests for accommodation only from outstation students, especially girl students in CSIR-IIIM housing facility depending upon the availability of the accommodation on a first-come-first-serve basis for which candidates will have to pay a nominal license fee + electricity charges as per CSIR norms.

Please note that only 6-10 trainees can be accommodated on a sharing basis on a first-cum-first basis. The rest of the selected trainees have to manage their stay.

• Starting date of the online application 16th April 2024

• Display of the list of selected candidates on IIIM homepage 30th April 2024
• Tentative dates of joining IIIM: Between 2 May-17 May 2024 (No candidate will be allowed to join after 17th May 2024)

Important points to note.

• Applications for Internship/Training Program 2024 (Summer Call) MUST be submitted ONLINE only.
• The duration of the program is two to six months starting May 2024.
• Requests/applications for the program sent prior to this notification will not be considered. Any such candidate MUST apply again using the prescribed application form.
• Upload the copies of marks/grades obtained in 12th standard, Grad Semesters (1,2,3 Yrs) for 4 Years prog and PG Semesters for PG Students.
• Incomplete applications will not be considered/be rejected.
• The decision of the CSIR-IIIM Jammu regarding the selection of candidates shall be final.
• Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated as a disqualification.
• All candidates selected for the program would require work for the duration of the training without any break.
• All candidates are required to furnish an authorization letter/Bonafide certificate from the Head of the Department/DEAN/Registrar/Principal/Director in original.
