Role Overview: Scientific Business Analyst – Biological Studies (LIMS)

As a Scientific Business Analyst, you’ll serve as a vital link between Amgen’s research scientists and technology teams. Your primary role will involve gathering and translating scientific requirements into actionable tasks for development teams. You will be responsible for supporting and managing platforms like LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems), ELNs, and other scientific software systems that help track, analyze, and manage pre-clinical and clinical research data.

 Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between scientific teams and IT, converting research needs into software solutions.

• Translate scientific use cases into user stories, epics, and process documentation.

• Manage internal systems like Benchling, LabVantage, STARLIMS, and integrate with reporting platforms like Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire.

• Coordinate system implementations across multi-functional global teams.

• Ensure platforms comply with data integrity, GxP, and FDA regulations (21 CFR Part 11, GLP, GCP).

• Maintain platform documentation, training resources, and support materials.

• Facilitate AI/ML readiness by aligning research data platforms with future tech needs.

Qualifications & Skills

Educational Background

• Master’s degree with 1–3 years of relevant experience

• Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of experience

• Diploma with 7–9 years of experience

• Experience in pharma R&D software platforms

• Familiarity with bioanalytical workflows, biospecimen management

• Awareness of cloud infrastructure (AWS) and Agile/SAFe methodologies

• GxP compliance and regulatory understanding
