    Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute (CNCI), Kolkata, is inviting applications for ten Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions in various research areas related to cancer, including Molecular Cancer Genetics, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, and Drug Development & Delivery. The candidates should hold an M.Sc. degree in Chemistry/Biology or any branch of Life Sciences

    Chittaranjan Cancer Hospital (CCH) was established with the support of Dr. B.C.Roy, an eminent physician and then the Chief Minister of West Bengal. The hospital was formally inaugurated by Prof. Madam J. Curie on January 2, 1950, and named after Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das as a tribute to and in acknowledgment of the enormous donation of his land and property for the cause. Initially, this was a Cancer -treatment Centre which gradually expanded its basic and clinical research activities with assistance from government funding organizations. This eventually led to the founding of the Chittaranjan National Cancer Centre (CNCRC), funded by the Government of India in 1957, which was committed to basic research on cancer.

    Director, Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute (CNCI), Kolkata, invites applications for filling up vacant posts of Junior Research Fellows (JRFs)

    No of posts: 10 (UR: 04, OBC: 03, SC: 01, ST: 01, EWS: 01)

    Age limit: Should be 28 years or below on the closing date of submission of online application. Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules.

    Nationality: The applicant must be an Indian Citizen.

    Fellowship: CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR direct fellowship holders are eligible.

    Qualification Required: NET[CSIR/UGC/DBT(CAT-I)/ICMR or any other fellowship for reserved categories may also apply] examination qualified, Junior Research Fellowship holder candidates having independent fellowship, with M.Sc.degree (55% and above or equivalent GPA) in Chemistry/Biology or any branch of Life Sciences are eligible to apply. Students in their final year of M.Sc. may also apply, provided they fulfill other qualifications.

    Field / Research Area: Molecular Cancer Genetics; Cell Biology; Molecular Virology; Molecular Microbiology; Biotechnology; Cancer Stem Cell Biology; Organic Chemistry; Medicinal Chemistry; Drug Development & Delivery.

The candidates shortlisted for selection interviews will be notified through the CNCI website/email, and the interview date will be notified.
