National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Kolkata, is an Institute of National importance under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India. NIPER Kolkata has established the Centre for Marine Therapeutics (CMT). It is involved in developing a new process for Marine Therapeutics, a New Chemical Entity (NCE) from Marine sources.
Applications are now invited for the recruitment for the following post at this Institute purely temporarily for 1 (one) year, and it could be extended based on the candidate’s performance.
NIPER Kolkata, an Institute of National importance, is inviting applications for temporary positions of Research Associate – II and Project Technical Officer at its Centre for Marine Therapeutics. The Research Associate position requires a PhD in organic/medicinal chemistry, with experience in synthesizing chiral molecules, multi-step synthesis/synthesis of API, / Total synthesis of natural products, and analytical techniques. The Project Technical Officer position requires a Master’s degree in organic, medicinal, analytical, natural product chemistry, or related area, with expertise in organic synthesis and use of analytical instruments. The positions are purely contractual for 1 year, and the salary for Research Associate is 49,000/- + HRA and for Project Technical Officer is 32,000/-.

Research Associate – II

Upper Age limit (Yr): 35
Educational Qualification: PhD awarded (organic/medicinal chemistry). Should have experience (06 months or more) in synthesizing chiral molecules, multi-step synthesis/synthesis of API, / Total synthesis of natural products. Should be well-versed in analytical techniques and interpretation of analytical data
Salary: 49,000/- + HRA
Project Technical Officer
No. of Positions: 01
Upper Age limit (Yr): 30
Educational Qualification: Master in organic, medicinal, analytical, natural product chemistry, or related area. Should have expertise in organic synthesis and use of analytical instruments such as LC-Mass, GC- Mass, HPLC etc.
Salary: 32,000/-
Job requirement: The candidate should design and synthesize the Chiral API molecules and natural products in the laboratory, write manuscripts for scientific publications, and perform other assigned research work.

1. The above position is purely contractual for 1 year.
