NOTIFICATION; Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for filling up the post of Junior Research Fellow on a contract basis in the ICMR-funded project entitled “Identifying pharmacological correction and pathophysiological mechanism of novel de novo mutations in sodium channels linked to epilepsy in human stem cell derived neurons”.– under the guidance of Dr. Yogananda S. Markandeya Assistant Professor of Biophysics & Principal Investigator., NIMHANS

Name of the Project – “Identifying pharmacological correction and pathophysiological mechanism of novel de novo mutations in sodium channels linked to epilepsy in human stem cell derived neurons”.

Name of the PI – Dr. Yogananda S. Markandeya

Maximum Age limit – 28 years

Duration of the post – Three Year. The initial appointment will be made for a period of six months which will be extendable further depending upon the performance of the candidate.

Emoluments – Rs.31,000/- + 27 % HRA P.M

Essential Qualification – M.Sc OR M.Tech OR M.Phil degree in life sciences/ biotechnology/ microbiology/ biochemistry/ biophysics/ chemistry with a good academic record and National Eligibility Test NET/GATE/JGEEBILS /ICMR/INSPIRE

Additional Experience – Candidates with 6-month experience in human stem cells, primary mammalian neuronal culture, and Patch clamp electrophysiology are encouraged to apply.

Nature of Job – The project covers extensive human primary cell culture, induced pluripotent stem cell culturing, reprogramming, differentiating, and characterization. Also, the use of electrophysiology (patch-clamp) and fluorescence imaging for functional study.
