Junior Medical Writer job description

A medical writer is a professional who produces various types of scientific and medical documentation, such as regulatory documents, clinical study reports, scientific manuscripts, and educational materials. Medical writers are typically required to have a strong scientific background, excellent writing skills, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely. They work closely with physicians, scientists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that documents are accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory guidelines.

  1. Efficiency in conducting literature searches for authoring various types of reports
  2. Write various safety reports (or part of such reports) for global regulatory submissions for Sciformix’s clients, including Annual Reports (IND and other), Periodic Safety Update Reports, Periodic Adverse Drug Experience Reports, Bridging reports, and other clinical documents as assigned.
  3. Write Common Technical Document Summaries including Non-Clinical and Clinical Overviews, Clinical Summaries, and other regulatory documents as assigned.
  4. Write Investigator Brochures and sections of/entire protocols
  5. Write Clinical Study Reports (in whole or in part) for Ph 1-4 trials, including full master’s degree in Pharmacy/related science area
  6. Bachelor’s degree in Medical Science
  7. At least 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 2 years of it in medical writing study reports, abbreviated reports, web synopses
  8. Author Informed Consent Forms (ICFs), manuscripts, abstracts, posters for conferences,
  9. Prepare medical information responses for HCPs
  10. Write subject narratives for adverse drug reactions and serious adverse events
  11. Internal and external (client) communication & co-ordination to get the required inputs
  12. Creating and updating labels, e.g. Core Data Sheets, USPI, centralized SPCs, Med Guides
  13. Search literature databases for relevant information, recommend label changes, author proposed label text, and preparation of supporting/justification document
