Join the Israyel Regenerative Bioengineering Lab: Recruiting Graduate (PhD and MSc) Students
The Israyel Regenerative Bioengineering Lab (REBELab) at Bar-Ilan University is excited to announce recruitment for graduate (PhD and MSc) students. We are looking for motivated individuals with a background in bioengineering, chemistry, material engineering, or biology to join our team and work on cutting-edge research projects. Our lab focuses on developing advanced in vitro models, including organ-on-chip and organoids, to study human physiology and disease.
About Israyel Regenerative Bioengineering Lab
Location
The Azrieli Faculty of Medicine, Bar-Ilan University, Israel
At the REBELab, our mission is to understand human tissues’ response to stress and innate mechanisms that restore function and homeostasis. By modeling human tissues and their interactions, we aim to improve our understanding of complex physiological systems, identify new therapeutic approaches, and enhance human performance.
Research Focus Areas
Our lab utilizes a wide range of tools, including material engineering, stem cells, cell biology, microscopy, and proteomics. We are recruiting graduate students for various funded projects in the following areas:
3D Muscular Tissue Engineering
Work on creating advanced 3D models of muscular tissues to study their physiology and pathology.
Human Disease Modeling
Develop in vitro models to mimic human diseases, providing insights into disease mechanisms and potential treatments.
Extracellular Vesicles
Investigate the role of extracellular vesicles in cell communication and their impact on tissue function.
Vascular Regulation of Tissues Metabolism
Explore how vascular systems regulate tissue metabolism and the implications for health and disease.
Stem Cells
Utilize stem cell technology to understand tissue regeneration and repair mechanisms.
Qualifications
We are looking for enthusiastic team players with a curious mind and a strong background in:
- Bioengineering
- Chemistry
- Material Engineering
- Biology
Responsibilities
- Conduct Research: Participate in cutting-edge research projects, contributing to the development of advanced in vitro models.
- Collaborate: Work with a multidisciplinary team to achieve research goals.
- Innovate: Develop new techniques and approaches to study human physiology and disease.
- Communicate: Present findings at conferences and publish in scientific journals.
