IHBT various project associate and junior research fellow vacancies for all life sciences students
The Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT) is conducting walk-in interviews for various project associate and junior research fellow positions. The interviews will be held on the 13th and 14th of April, 2023. The details of the positions available are as follows:
Walk Interviews are scheduled to be held on the date(s) as mentioned below against the position(s) in the respective column for the selection of the suitable candidate(s) in the areas under the following projects for recruitment on a purely temporary basis for the duration of the projects as mentioned or till completion of the projects, whichever is earlier:
Project Associate – I (01 posts)

Projects Title & Number: Transcriptional and hormonal regulation of epicotyl dormancy in Kala Jeera (Buaium persicum)- GAP 0318

Stipend (Per Month) [Consolidated] : (i) Rs. 31,000/-p.m. + HRA to those who are selected through a) National Eligibility tests CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or b) A selection process through Nations) Level examinations are conducted by the central government and their agencies and institutions. Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Botany / Biotechnology / Plant Molecular Biology / Life Sciences from a recognized university.
Desirable Qualification: Candidates having hands-on experience in Molecular Biology and Tissue Culture techniques will be preferred

Essential Qualification: Master in Biotechnology / Agricultural Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology / Biochemistry / Biochemical Engineering / Microbial Biotechnology from a recognized university.
Desirable Qualification: Experience in cultivating in vitro plant cell/organ cultures in shake flasks/ bioreactors

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in chemistry from a recognized university with two years of research experience.
Desirable Qualification: Minimum two years of research experience in the area of organic chemistry.

General instructions :
- Candidates reporting for an interview after 10.00 AM will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
- The tenure of Project Staff shall be co¬terminus with the Project. The total tenure of project Staff in CSIR should not exceed 5 years. The total tenure of 5 years shall be calculated per period spent on one Project and/ or different Projects in CSIR-IHBT, Palampur, and/ or any other Lab./ Institute of CSIR as Project Staff.
- Candidates who want to apply for more than one position code must submit a separate application form for each.
- Candidates must also bring original certificates of testimonials when appearing for the interview, failing which he/she will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
- No Travelling Allowance will be paid for attending the interview.
- Candidates must ensure they bring self-attested copies of their essential certificates; otherwise, their applications will not be accepted.
- The Selection Committee(s) may adopt the selection criterion on its own, i.e. either by conducting a direct interview or objective test (Based on Multiple Choice Questions) followed by an interview on the same day.
- The number of selected candidates may vary from the advertised positions depending upon the performance of candidates during the selection process.
- The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the duration of the Project. There will be no right implicit or explicit for a regular position or any post in CSIR-IHBT, Palampur whatsoever.
- Eligible candidates may appear for “Walk-in-interview (s)” on the date, time and place mentioned above, along with an application in the prescribed format (with the latest colored passport-size photo affixed on it), which is available on the CSIR-IHBT website, i.e. what. Res. in along with self-attested photocopies of their testimonials of age, educational qualifications, experience etc., at the time of the interview.
- The decision of the Director, CSIR-IHBT, Palampur, shall be final on any matter relating to the engagement of the above-mentioned positions in CSIR-IHBT, Palampur (H.P.).
- The Competent Authority reserves the right to relax any of the provisions contained in this advertisement on reasonable grounds.
- The Project Staff’s performance would be reviewed every six months, and anyone not found up to the mark may be terminated.
- All the Candidates are advised to follow all the guidelines/instructions issued by the Government of India / Government of Himachal Pradesh/ CSIR/ Local Authorities to contain the spread of COVID-19 from time to time.
