IASST Invites Applications for Pharma Internship and Project Training in Various Fields

The Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST) is offering short-term summer internships (2 months) and project dissertations/training (6 months) for candidates pursuing degrees in various fields such as pharmaceutical sciences, nanotechnology, biophysics, and more.

Advertisement for internship/project dissertation/training at IASST, Guwahati The Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), Guwahati, is an autonomous R&D Institute under the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. The Institute is engaged in frontier research areas in Physical, Chemical, Mathematical and Life Sciences.

The Institute aims to contribute to basic sciences and develop technology using local resources through strong interdisciplinary research approaches across different divisions. Institute is equipped with modern and sophisticated instrumentation, including SEM, XRD, LCMS-MS, AFM, DNA Sequencer and computational facility for cutting-edge scientific research.

The Institute invites applications against the available vacancies (2023-2024) for short-term summer internship (2 months) and project dissertation/training (6 months) in the following areas:

Subject Area: Phytopharmaceuticals for metabolic syndrome/ Pharmaceutical Sciences/ Molecular Pharmacology/ Ethnopharmacology/ Drug Discovery/ Snake venom Biochemistry

Eligibility Criteria: Candidate pursuing M.Sc./B.Tech M. Pharm/ M.S. Pharm/ M. Tech Pharma

The Institute invites applications against the available vacancies (2023-2024) for short-term summer internship (2 months) and project dissertation/training (6 months) in the following areas:

Application Procedure: Interested candidates should apply online on the institute website (www.iasst.gov.in) within 15 days from the advertisement’s publication date. Only complete applications and those received after the closing date will be entertained. Candidates should submit a No Objection Certificate from the parent institute during online application submission.

Those unable to submit NOC during the application process should upload a self-declaration certificate. NOC submission is compulsory before joining the internship/ dissertation/training at IASST.

Selection Procedure: Selection will be based on merit (based on last semester’s marks), and the selected candidate’s list will be uploaded to the IASST website. The decisions of the admission committee will be final, and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

Internship/ dissertation/training fee:

• Candidates selected for project dissertation/training must pay a nonrefundable fee of Rs. 2500 per month towards laboratory/chemical/equipment handling costs.
• Candidates selected for the internship will not be charged any fee.

Accommodation: Accommodation in the institute Dormitory is subject to its availability during the joining date. Preference will be given to students from outside Guwahati.

The internship programme will start in June 2023, and the dissertation/training from July 2023.

IASST’s Right: If suitable candidates are not found in any discipline, IASST reserves the right not to fill its position during summer/winter sessions.
