Responsibilities and Key Skills

As a Formulation Development Scientist at Medreich, you will be involved in cutting-edge pharmaceutical formulation projects. Your role will include:

• Developing formulations for solid orals, including extended-release tablets, bilayer tablets, capsules, and other dosage forms like powder for oral solutions/suspensions.
• Engaging in the formulation of complex generics, including MUPS (Multiple Unit Pellet System), HME (Hot Melt Extrusion), and novel drug delivery systems.
• Conducting thorough literature surveys and reference product characterization to design bioequivalent formulations.
• Leading scale-up processes from laboratory to pre-validation and validation batches.
• Preparing critical documentation such as MFR/BMR/BPR (Master Formula Record, Batch Manufacturing Record, Batch Packing Record), PVP, and HTSP.
• Ensuring compliance with international guidelines such as ICH, MHRA, PMDA, TGA, and Health Canada.
• Managing post-approval changes and variations to formulations as required.

Qualifications Required

To be eligible for the Formulation Development Scientist role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

  • Extended-release formulations and bilayer tablets
  • Drug/Excipient compatibility studies
  • Lab scale development
  • Stability studies and bioequivalence trials
  • Use of pharma equipment and relevant documentation processes
• Candidates should also be familiar with pharmaceutical regulatory guidelines and documentation practices, making them adept at handling complex generics and novel delivery systems.
